Consumers’ “Confusion” about the Wireless Carriers

Three senators wrote to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on Tuesday urging it to keep an eye on billing practices by wireless companies after Verizon announced that it had overcharged millions of customers…

…The incident reveals “the confusion consumers often experience with wireless billing practices,” the letter said.

We need more government oversight over the practices of the wireless industry, from these shady charges, to the outlandish early termination fees charged by almost every carrier, to data-caps, to the practice of handset exclusivity.

Given the laundry list of complaints consumers have about the wireless carriers, “confusion” comes across pretty soft.
