It’s not unreasonable to believe that today’s high-powered smartphones can impact the sales of mobile computers, particularly the netbook/smartbook segment. The mobile computer, no matter its form, has won the war with the lowly desktop.



James Kendrick argues that mobile computing has “won,” meaning that more people use laptops, netbooks and tablets than desktop computers.

But they’ve only won this round. By 2014 — or earlier — smartphones will be the primary way most people access the Internet. Take that, netbooks.
