Beyond the romanticization of technology to overcome oppression — in this case in Syria — we’re also looking at the potential triumph of people-powered, technology-assisted organizing over machine-powered, technology-assisted violence. 

Let’s hope this trend continues, and becomes one of the ways the 21st century distinguishes itself from the 20th century.
